Gun Raffle, Letter of Intent, Delegates Needed, 212/WLC Scholarship Applications & Save the Date

1.  Gun Raffle - The Illinois FFA Alumni is selling tickets for a Gun Raffle the tickets are $20 per ticket.  The proceeds from this raffle funds alumni scholarships and events.  Only 1,000 tickets will be sold (000-999) and the winning numbers will be drawn from the Evening Illinois Pick 3, Monday-Friday, December 1-30, 2017.  We will have an early bird drawing on November 1st.  Please see the attached gun listing.

Each day's winner will receive e-gift cards from Dick's Sporting Goods Store for the value of that gun for that day.

You may purchase the gun raffle tickets from the Alumni Council Members (listing attached), or you may send a check made payable to the IL FFA Alumni and mailed to Patti Davis, IL FFA Alumni, 3221 Northfield Drive, Springfield, IL 62702 or pay by credit card (please note Alumni-Gun Raffle).  If any questions, please contact Patti Davis at 


2.  Alumni Council Letter of Intent - The Illinois FFA Alumni is accepting applications to be on the alumni council.  The alumni council meets 3-4 times per year to judge scholarship applications, plan the annual conference and auction, plan ways to help local FFA Chapters, start and reactivate new alumni's, help at the Alumni booth at the Illinois FFA Convention, plus many more items.

The application is due on October 1st.  The application can be mailed to the FFA Center, 3221 Northfield Drive, Springfield, Illinois 62702, or faxed to (217) 753-3359.

If you are looking to be a part of a team while helping others, then this is the place for you!


3.  212 & WLC Scholarship Applications - The IL FFA Alumni is putting their scholarship application on Google Docs.  Be on the look out for the list serve for these applications later this week.  The applications are due by November 1st.   Please note that if the student has already attended the 212 Conference on October 6-7, 2017 they can still apply for the 212 scholarship, and if they receive the scholarship, then we will reimburse the school for the $100 conference fee.  

The WLC Scholarship will be a $550 scholarship with $200 towards transportation costs.  We do not have the cost of WLC from National FFA yet or the week set to for the WLC FFA Bus.


4.  Delegates needed for National FFA Alumni Business Meeting at National FFA Convention - We are in need of delegates for the business meeting at National FFA Convention.  The business meeting will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, registration is from 11:00-1:00, and the business meeting will start at 2:00.  There will be an Alumni Reception from 6:00-8:00, be sure to order tickets for this event through the convention registration process.  Please contact Patti Davis at by October 4th to be a delegate. To be an Alumni Delegate you need to have been an alumni member in the 2016-2017 membership year.  


5.  Illinois FFA Alumni Annual Meeting & Auction - The Illinois FFA Alumni Annual Conference & Auction will be held on January 26-27, 2018 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Champaign, Illinois.  Live Auction will be held on Friday night!  The auction will start at 8:00 p.m. after the awards banquet.  This auction is open to the public and money raised goes towards scholarships for FFA members to attend leadership conferences throughout the year.  On Saturday January 27th, we will continue to have district caucuses, business meeting, and then have more time to for breakout sessions for such topics as developing your Alumni and advocacy.  Please save the date for this wonderful and educational event.  Registration for this event will be out later in the fall.
